Hollywood actor Brendan Fraser gets emotional after its screening and standing ovation for 'The Whale' at Venice Film Festival.

Brendan Fraser 53, "The Mummy" star is being touted as a serious Oscar’s contender with his portrayal in the drama.

The applause continued for Fraser at 79th Venice International Film Festival, the actor and some audience appeared to get choked up.

The Whale directed by Darren Aronofsky, and "Stranger Things" actress Sadie Sink plays Brendan Fraser’s daughter role.

The film focuses on Fraser's character, Charlie, a reclusive 600-pound man trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter.

Fraser was once a major star with hits such as George of the Jungle. But receded to the sidelines of TV and film in recent years.
