caught at a Moscow airport after vape cartridges were discovered in her luggage.

A video showing a person who appears to be 6-foot-9 Griner going through airport security was released by the U.S. Customs Service.

Russian customs service identified the detained person as a basketball player for the U.S. women’s team.

The crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, but Griner was not mentioned by name from authorities.

A 10-time WNBA All-Star, Griner was a member of the Phoenix Mercury who lost to the Chicago Sky in the WNBA Finals last October.

Griner won championships with the Mercury in 2014 and gold with the United States in the Olympics in 2016 and 2021.
