Basketball star JD Davison is the latest player to join the Boston Celtics, having been selected with the 53rd overall pick.

Davison is an athletic guard who averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 33 games for the Crimson Tide last season.

Davison seemed pretty excited about joining the reigning Eastern Conference champions, judging by some of his tweets after the pick was official.

Standing at six-foot-two, Davison has reasonable size for his position, but it’s his athleticism that really jumps out at you, pun intended.

JD Davison the 19-year-old guard is going to need more than just raw physical talent if he wants to succeed at the next.

Unfortunately, throughout his final season with Alabama, this didn’t seem to be the case, as Davison struggled to finish through contact.

Davison struggles to attack the rim when there’s a defender in front of him, which causes him to become over-focused.

He regularly utilizes spins to break away from his defender, but seldom reads the help defense before doing so.

Celtics fans shouldn't have to wait long to see Davison in action. He's likely to be on Boston's Summer League roster next month.

The Celtics finally made a pick in the 2022 NBA Draft when they selected Alabama point guard JD Davison at No. 53 overall in the second round.
